From Retail Management to One of Pennsylvania’s Most Sought-After Boudoir Photographers

From Corporate Life to Following My Passion

Before opening Crimson and Ivy Studio, I spent more than 25 years working in retail management. I worked my way up through the ranks, developing skills in leadership, operations, customer service, and visual merchandising.

While I enjoyed many aspects of my career, there was always a creative side of me that wanted more.

Photography started as a passion project. Like many photographers, I photographed families, newborns, weddings, and headshots. I loved preserving memories for my clients, but I still hadn’t found the niche that truly felt like home.

That changed in 2018.

The Boudoir Session That Changed Everything

My love for boudoir photography actually began in front of the camera.

In 2018, I booked my own boudoir session. Like many women, I had nerves and insecurities walking into the experience. I questioned whether I would feel comfortable. I worried about how I would look.

What happened next completely changed my perspective.

I left feeling empowered, confident, and beautiful.

That experience opened my eyes to what boudoir photography could truly be. It wasn’t about lingerie, It wasn’t about posing, It wasn’t even about the photographs themselves.

It was about transformation.

It was about helping women reconnect with themselves and see their beauty through a different lens.

That moment sparked a passion that would eventually lead me to become a full-time York PA boudoir photographer and dedicate my business to empowering women from all walks of life.

Starting Over and Rebuilding in Pennsylvania

One of the biggest challenges in my career came when my family and I moved from New Jersey back to Pennsylvania in 2023.

In New Jersey, I had spent nearly a decade building a thriving photography business. My client base had grown almost entirely through referrals and word-of-mouth recommendations. I had become known as one of the area’s go-to photographers for women seeking a luxury boudoir experience.

Moving to Pennsylvania meant starting over.

Everything I had spent years building had to be rebuilt from the ground up.

For any small business owner, that’s a scary place to be.

But I’ve always believed that where there is passion, there is growth.

Instead of focusing on what I lost, I focused on what I could create. Slowly, client by client, relationship by relationship, Crimson and Ivy Studio began to grow.

Growing up in Chester County, Pennsylvania, I spent most of my childhood outdoors. Whether I was reading books, staring at the stars on cold winter nights, drawing, painting, or playing the flute, I was constantly creating.

Photography eventually became the perfect outlet for all those creative passions.

Today, I get to combine art, emotion, fashion, lighting, and storytelling into something that helps women see themselves differently.

And honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Looking Toward the Future

Building Crimson and Ivy Studio has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life.

Has it been easy?

Absolutely not.

There have been challenges, setbacks, and moments where I questioned everything.

But there have also been incredible victories, life-changing client transformations, and countless women who have trusted me with their stories.

Those women continue to inspire me every day.
