When Pride hits Downtown York, it POPS OFF — literally.
On Friday, June 13th, the heart of Royal Square District exploded with glitter, joy, and unapologetic queer celebration at the annual Pride Pop Off hosted at Mural Park. Sponsored by the Rainbow Rose Center, Royal Square District, Cultural York, Hive Art Space, Creatives On King, Grotto York, The Hangar, and Collusion Tap Works. this vibrant block party brought together a powerful mix of drag performances, music, dancing, dunk tanks, food trucks, and fierce community energy.
As a York-based event and boudoir photographer, I had the absolute honor of capturing the magic of this night — and let me tell you, it was everything.
The entire evening was a celebration of LGBTQ+ pride and community. With performances by iconic drag artists including Sarabesque, Derrière, Diety Stackhouse, and Popyuh Cherry, the stage was on fire — and the crowd was loving every second.
Hosts Sible Sible and Tragedy Stackhouse kept the energy high while the neighborhood filled with laughter, dancing, and the occasional splash from the dunk tank. 🌈
Royal Square was alive not just with entertainment, but also with local vendors, food trucks, and extended celebrations throughout the neighborhood — all capped off with an afterparty at Granfalloons.
Events like the Pride Pop Off are why I’m so passionate about being an LGBTQ+ affirming photographer in York, PA. The joy, the freedom, and the unfiltered self-expression are what make these community moments so powerful — and so worth preserving.
This wasn’t just another event — it was a living, breathing celebration of queer joy, visibility, and love in York.
